The Extended Look gameplay video, aired 27 August 2026, showed players swapping control between Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos during a shared mission, similar to the three-way switching system used in GTA V. Rockstar and press coverage describe the pair as a fugitive couple who share money, vehicles and story beats, and can be freely swapped between during exploration and combat. Rob Nelson of Rockstar North has discussed the mechanic in interviews accompanying the reveal.
