The confirmed geography, in short
Grand Theft Auto VI is set in a fictional US state called Leonida. Inside Leonida, Rockstar’s own site names six more places: Vice City, Leonida Keys, Port Gellhorn, Grassrivers, Ambrosia, and Mount Kalaga National Park. That is the complete list of locations Rockstar itself has put a name to, as of this page’s last update. Everything else you might read about the map, district names, town names, or specific streets, comes from press analysis or community guesswork rather than a direct Rockstar naming, and should be read with that in mind.
Leonida, the state itself
Leonida is the fictional state that the whole game takes place in. Rockstar’s official GTA VI site describes it as the setting for the story, and every other confirmed location on this page sits somewhere inside it. Rockstar has not published a full state map, an exact area figure, or a complete list of every town and district within Leonida, so treat Leonida as the confirmed container for the story rather than a fully mapped-out place yet.
Vice City, the main city
Vice City is the game’s central city and the location most of Rockstar’s marketing has focused on. It is where Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, the two lead characters, spend much of their story, and it is home to supporting characters like Boobie Ike and Dre’Quan Priest. Rockstar has released a dedicated set of official screenshots and artwork for Vice City, but it has not published a full district map, exact boundaries, or a complete building list.
The five places beyond Vice City
Outside the city, Rockstar has named five more destinations. Leonida Keys is a tropical island chain connected to Jason’s criminal work and to Brian Heder, a Keys-based drug runner. Port Gellhorn is described in Rockstar’s own material as a worn-down coastal area associated with cheap tourism and roadside businesses. Grassrivers is a wetland region shown in official screenshots as a landscape well outside the dense city. Ambrosia is an inland, industrial-feeling destination in the same official material. Mount Kalaga National Park is the northernmost of the group, shown as forested wilderness in six separate official screenshots.
Each of these six places, Vice City included, has its own dedicated official screenshot set and postcard artwork from Rockstar, which is why they are treated as confirmed here rather than as press or fan guesses.
What is not confirmed
Rockstar has not published a finished map of Leonida. There is no official boundary line for any of these six destinations, no confirmed total area in square kilometres, and no complete list of the neighbourhoods, roads, or points of interest inside any of them. Anything more specific than the seven names above, including detailed district names inside Vice City, should be treated as reported or guessed rather than confirmed, because Rockstar has not said it directly and nobody outside the studio has played the finished game.
Why the list will likely grow
Rockstar tends to name new places gradually, through trailers, its official site, and eventual gameplay previews. More locations inside Leonida are likely to be confirmed before Grand Theft Auto VI launches on 19 November 2026, and certainly after. When Rockstar names a new place directly, it gets added here. Until then, this list of seven is the complete and honest picture of what has actually been confirmed.
